Platteklip Gorge

Platteklip Gorge is a very popular route, possibly because it is the “easiest” way up. It is also the most direct and quickest route to the top of Table Mountain. It should not be underestimated, however, especially in hot weather. Not to worry, though, we can take it slow, resting often and drinking in the breathtaking views of Cape Town and Table Bay. We usually catch a ride on the cable car to descend, but it’s up to you.

Grade A
Time 2 to 3 hours up. Hiking down adds 2 hours.
Cost  R1400 per person (minimum two people), excluding Cableway descent (R280 per person). Hiking down adds R500 per person.
Difficulty This is a steep, but non-technical hike, and a moderate level of fitness is a good idea.
